Civil engineering is that field of engineering concerned with planning, design and construction of natural resource development, regional and local water supply and storm water facilities, waste management facilities, transportation facilities, tunnels, buildings, bridges, and other structures for the needs of people. Persons who are qualified by education and experience and who meet state requirements for practising the profession of civil engineering are called civil engineers.
